Wheel covers for trucks and semi-trucks
Strands’ wide range of wheel covers is perfect for truck and semi-truck owners. The wheel covers give your vehicle a stylish look but also protect your tires and rims against damage that can be caused by dirt or bumps into the curb.
WHAT ARE WHEEL COVERS?
Wheel covers are placed over the center of the wheel of a vehicle. They can help to protect and enhance the appearance of a vehicle´s wheels, making them a popular accessory among many car owners.
Wheel covers are usually made of plastic or metal and are created to cover the wheel’s hub, where the lug nuts are located. They are designed to match the style and color of the vehicle.
WHAT IS THE POINT OF WHEEL COVERS?
Wheel covers serve both functional and aesthetic purposes. Functionally, they help to protect the wheel from dirt, debris, and other road hazards, which can cause damage to the wheel or affect its performance. This can help extend the wheels’ life and reduce the need for costly repairs or replacements.
Aesthetically they can improve the wheel’s appearance, adding a stylish touch to enhance the vehicle’s overall look.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HUBCAPS AND WHEEL COVERS?
Hubcaps and wheel covers are both used to cover the wheels of a vehicle, but there are some differences between the two:
PLACEMENT:
Hubcaps covers only the center of the wheel, while wheel covers cover the entire wheel.
ATTACHMENT:
Hubcaps are attached to the wheel by clipping onto the wheel´s central hub, while wheel covers are usually held in place by a series of clips or screws around the edge of the wheel.
PURPOSE:
Hubcaps are primarily used for aesthetic purposes, while wheel covers can also protect the wheel from dirt, debris, and weather conditions.
MATERIAL:
Hubcaps are typically made of metal, while wheel covers are usually made of plastic or composite materials.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RIMS AND WHEEL COVERS?
Rims and wheel covers are two different components of a wheel. The main difference between the two is as follows:
FUNCTION:
Rims are a structural component of a wheel and provide the mounting surface for the tire, while wheel covers are a cosmetic addition to the wheel that covers the face of the rim.
ATTACHMENT:
Rims are attached to the wheel hub using lug nuts, while wheel covers attach to the wheel using clips or screws around the edge of the wheel.
In summary, rims and wheel covers serve different functions and have other characteristics. Rims are a structural component of the wheel and can have an aesthetic appeal, while wheel covers are a cosmetic addition to the wheel designed to cover the face of the rim.
MATERIAL:
Rims are usually made of metal, such as steel or aluminum alloy, while wheel covers are typically made of plastic or composite materials.
HOW DO I MOUNT WHEEL COVERS?
Mounting wheel covers can vary depending on the specific design and make of the covers, but here are some general steps that should help you get started:
- First, make sure your wheel covers are the correct size and style for your wheels. Wheel covers that don´t fit properly can come off while driving and cause a hazard.
- Remove any old wheel covers that may be on your wheels. This usually involves prying them off with a flathead screwdriver or a specialized removal tool.
- Align the mounting clips on the back of the wheel cover with the holes on your wheel. Most wheel covers will have plastic clips that snap into place. Ensure the cover is centered over the wheel and the clips are properly aligned.
- Use your hands or rubber mallet to press the wheel cover into place gently. Ensure each clip is securely fastened and the cover is snug against the wheel.
- Repeat the process for the remaining wheel covers.
- After you have mounted all the wheel covers, give them a final check to ensure they are securely fastened and aligned correctly.
If you still have difficulty mounting your wheel covers, it may be helpful to consult the manufacturer’s instructions or a professional mechanic for further guidance.
